I have seen a few guys using portable paddock stands that go through the crank.... i found AndyStands online.... but would like to make something similar to help in my workshop both for working and storing bikes, but also very handy being portable to clean bike when out and about.
They look like they would be quite easy to make .....
Has anyone made anything similar? Plans / dimensions?
I wondered about making something where the bar going through the hollow crank is nylon..... I'm sure I have a length of nylon bar in the roofspace somewhere from a previous project .....
Does anyone know the optimum diameter for the hollow crank ?? 15 -18mm??
Or alternatives for portability ?
20mm conduit works lovely... 🙂
