anybody had a go at this?

guessing a few bit's of decent MDF or ply, 2 metal rollers, a set of bearings and some swearing should do it.

experiences...?

Just buy a cheap second hand one. They'll be loads about now that all those New Year resolutions are in tatters...

I have knackered magnetic rim one from yester year.

I guess you could copy old cycle trainers with a heavy wheel and belt resistance?

Personally I'd get mudguards and go ride unless it's raining all the time £99 would get you started for a new turbo trainer from Halfords made by Elite.

2nd is an option but i've lots of free time, like making stuff, not hard enough to ride around on icy roads in temperature of minus ****ing cold and i'm poor.

alpin are you in Bristol? I bet you could get my old turbo trainer working.

Otherwise I'll take it to the jumble.
