Built up a 29er frame
With 26 rear wheel and 29 er front wheel
Put a 26 fork on it ...toe overlap seems OK rides quite nice too ..surely shouldn't work but rides nice

So what your saying is you bought a 29er frame and then ran it with 26" wheels? Watch that ground clearance.

I gave my Handjob the 69er treatment, I liked it a lot with the weird wheels but felt it made it a bit flip floppy during some riding and raised the BB a bit too much.

29er with 29 er front and 26 rear rides OK quite relaxed but stable I think due to lower bottom bracket

I did this the other day. Felt kind of unbalanced and a bit like dragging and anchor around.
I'm sure Maxxis LUST 2.5in Wetscream didn't help though!

Any excuse for a pic.... Here is my 69er. Built from bits in the shed. Running the 29er front wheel in 26 inch forks (440 mm)... Keeps the front end low. It's quick and despite having a bouncer, this is my go to bike. Love it.

My rigid bike swaps between a 29 wheel in the summer and a 26 in the winter. I swap because the 26 wheel has a dynamo hub which is very useful when you commute off road and don't want the faff of charging batteries. I keep thinking of getting the dynamo built into a 29 wheel but while I appreciate the added comfort of the 29 wheel when the ground is hard through the summer it's much less of an issue in the winter. I quite like the handling of the bike in both modes, always with the same 445mm fork, it's noticeably different but i seem to get used to either pretty quickly.
