Recently, whilst removing my Vyron wireless seatpost to recharge it I realised the cylinder head nut had loosened itself off a few turns, resulting in the the feather edge of the seal becoming damaged and chaffed when the seatpost was fully down due to the seal being made to travel beyond the stanchions surface, up and over a right angled edge.
I have loved the functionality of the seatpost and found it a perfect compliment to my Gen 1 Stanton Switchback which has no stealth cable routing.
Magura have over the years been great in supporting their product and in rectifying the few issues I've had and over the years it's been repaired and even replaced by Magura.
Since I last contacted them Magura appear to have moved their UK base and the contact details I had there were no longer active, when I did find a UK phone number for Magura Bosch the chap on the phone told me that they do not provide servicing, no spare parts were available and suggested that possibly a motorcycle repairer would be able to assist in replacing the damaged seal.
I have tried contacting Magura from the contact form on their website without a response and then messaging them on FB, again without success.
I'm not so naive as to be expecting lifetime servicing but no spares or sensible thoughts on a solution for the issue smacks of disinterest/arrogance.
Does anyone know where might actually be able to repair or even where spares might be had, it's only a seal which needs replaced, surely I don't have to ditch a perfectly functioning seatpost for that.
That's not a good outlook. My vyron could probably do with a service as it's developed some squish.Â
Like you I've had great service all pretty much free of charge
