Currently have mt5s on the big bike and SRAM level t on the gravel/utility bootzipper.
Thinking of swapping the SRAM for magura trail for 2 reasons.

Reason one, they will be far better than the SRAM brakes!

Reason two, I can swap the levers from the mt trails onto the big bike with mt5s as they are 1 finger levers.

Not missing anything there am I?

What length is the hose on the single pot brake on the mt trail

Yes you can swap the levers.
The hoses are long and always need trimming. Not sure of the exact length though.

Reason I ask about hoses is that my plan is to buy 2 sets and have one set of 2 pots and one set of 4 pots and only wanted to swap levers from the current mt5s onto the 4 pot new calipers and vice versa.
Essentially ending up with a set of new 4 pot calipers mated to my older mt5 levers.
One set of mt trail levers on single pot calipers

And one set of 4 pot calipers with mt trail levers

All by swapping levers over and not hoses at the caliper end for ease

I did the same but started out with 4s rather than 5s. Couple of points in retrospect-
- I prefer the two finger levers.
- If a bike is worth a 4 pot on the front it might as well have one on the rear 98% of the time. If you want to dial down on power make the rotor smaller and the weight savings cancel put but it’ll have the same pads both ends.

Swapping the levers is perfectly straightforward if you take your time and support them right although getting yhe lever spring back in right is a fiddly job if it doesn’t want to slot in on jts own

@swanny853

The bootzipper doesn't need 4 pots, hence wanting the 2 pots as a front and rear pair.

I've got a set of 4 pots on the bird which I'm wanting new levers

I would then have a spare set of 4 pots front and rear 👍

I'm swapping levers not blades

I've done this. Pretty sure I just did the swap at the caliper end, so each pair had a long and a short. The 2 pots I haven't used yet, the 4 pots I fitted, so subsequently shortened for the bike as well.

@bikerevivesheffield er dunno. Maybe? The first project they were kept for isn't happening, and although I might have another it won't be for a year. Drop me a message?

Aye, wasn’t referring specifically to you, should have made that clearer.

I’m swapping levers not blades

I think I’d probably do that in future too!
