After a few years use my MJ-872 battery is no longer the beast it used to be. I was out last night and after 40mins of use it started showing red.
Other than Magicshine's own batteries is there any other options?

As above, the batteries are fairly standard affairs. Off the top of my head just over 8V as they are made up of 4 18650 batteries.
Like my Torchy stuff.
All my batteries work with all my lights. The magic shine one is good but bulky. The cheapo ebay ones give me about 50% of the run time so I would avoid.
I fitted a bikeray 6-cell to mine, works really well and means I can run full power all the time for most rides if I want.
I went down the route of getting separate 18650 panasonic cells, a 4x nitecore charger and solarstorm battery holder.
But, as above, there are a few battery packs available.
also - don't throw out the magicshine battery box. It's a hell of a lot better than the replacement battery pouches that you can easily put inside the Magicshine battery box.
also, I have used ebay special 8.4v trustfire based 18650 battery based packs with the MJ-872 bulb - some aren't so good and leave the lamp on a red light all the time - I once had that for about 5 hours!
Well got around to buying a Bikeray battery. However it arrived without a battery pouch. Slightly dubious to how waterproof it will be or am I just being silly?
