Anyone?

My last supergravity is on it's last legs, the Minion DHF I put on isn't cutting it in the slop. I was tempted to try a spesh hillbilly 2.6, but it appears not to be a 2.6, and I'd really like to try a big monster mofo front tyre, always liked the Mary as it's great on pretty much everything bar trail centres.

It'll be on a WTBi29 for info.

Ive just put a 2.35 Magic Mary on my bike to replace a dhf 2.5wt on a 25mm rim. The Mary is very nearly as big as the dhf so I’m guessing the 2.6 MM is going to be huge!

Aye, the 2.35 is a beast, that's one of the reasons I love it, confidence inspiring on big rocky descents as well as being almost as good as a shorty in the slop.

35 mm inner rim width (FunWorks)

widest spot side wall: 66 mm

outer stud to outer stud: 67 mm

pressure around 20 psi

Magic Mary addix soft 2.6

No idea if the 2.6 version is as "ultra soft" available (I guess yes) - if so maybe try these...?

"Soft" has great grip - ultra soft "sticks" to the trail... Depends also how long these tyres should last.

Thanks Andreas, that's the one, the soft.

Everything on the 2.6 is considerably bigger than the 2.35 Mary, the width, the volume, the tread block size and the tread spacing.

Ultra soft is available in dual ply wire bead. It's a ****ing awesome tyre in the ultra soft compound, can't comment on the soft.

I went with 2.6 soft - thought that the "ultra soft" will only last a couple weeks.

Biking pal tried 2.35 ultra soft front and rear - which was a bit of an overkill. Rear tyre was really too soft. But front still looks good ...and grip is crazy.

So yes - as front tyre Magic Mary 2.6 "ultra soft" will be a good pick. And its already September ... the mud season will soon start...

Read through the minefield that is Schwalbe tyre options, I've no need for dual ply on the front, I'll just go for the soft, and Merlin have stock for a decent price.

My ultra soft 2.35 still had sharpish edges after a week in morzine!

I was a bit shock to be honest! Schwalbes usually shit themselves after a few days hard riding.

So....

First ride on 2.6 soft Addix Mary, bloody hell it's like cheating, a laser guided e-tyre!. My fave local big descent is a wet, Heathery, muddy, Rocky, bike swallowing wild and loose track, has a bit of everything, and the Mary is awesome on it, absolute point and shoot.

Fits perfectly inside a pike, with mudhugger in there too.

Happy nobeer here.
