I'm looKing for a mountain biking jacket for the UK, mainly Autumn & Winter rain and weather cover. Anyone give some feedback on the Madison Roam and Zenith jacket... (how do the sizes come up.. normal or a bit small ?). The reviews of the Roam suggest it gets a bit hot on warmer days.
thanks
I've got the Roam in large and it is very fitted. I only wear it in the worst rain as it does get very hot. Great jacket though. Waterproof and hard wearing.
Had a roam, was good, but a little 'square' ie I'd have preferred it longer and neater.
Got a Zenith. Too short to wear on the bike, makes a nice 'normal' coat!
I have a Large Zenith water proof and large zenith soft shell. The water proof fits my 5'8 stocky frame snugly and is fine for me, if you are taller you will find it too short as submarined says.
The soft shell is not very soft but is much more generous and pretty good at keeping water out but I wouldn't want to use it all day (I bought an orange SS to wear on my short rides into town).
I bought the waterproof online and it is not as sturdy as the description says or compared to the soft shell. I bought it to replace my fox attack which has been shredded by brambles. I thought it would be a waterproof version of the soft shell.
In summary not if you are tall or want a sturdy jacket to use for several seasons.
