We're gonna be staying at Abergynolwyn for a week and the bike is coming.
Machynlleth is 22 minutes drive away, so I'll probably be allowed out for 3 hours at a time, allowing just over 2 hours for a ride.
Which of the 4 trails will be doable in 2 hrs and which is the best bang for my buck? Is the waymarking pretty good on the trails or should I take a garmin with the gpxs on?
I don't own a full face so won't be taking in Atherton's new park unfortunately.
I will also be going up Cadair Idris so will welcome suggestions for any other loops in the area.

I did the Climachx when I was there in April. Took about an hour and a quarter. I was a little underwhelmed tbh as most of the first two thirds or so was on metalled forest road with only short sections of singletrack. To be fair, there were some diversions for forestry work, so maybe it's not always like that. The final descent is good fun though.
I'd do the climachx. Its well signed, mostly man-made single track with a great descent to finish. 15km so 2hrs is OK with maybe enough time for an extra loop of a couple of sections. The mach 1/2/3 trails are far more natural, out in wilds. Great for a day out but you will spend time navigating.
Pont Scethin and Coed y Brenin not too far away either.
Give Bike Corris a ring and he'll point you in the direction of some stuff - plenty of locals trails near/off the main Climachx trail and I believe they're working to re-opening and properly way marking the XC trails that run from town as well.
If you use trailforks it's easy to find off piste stuff around the climachx trail.
