Its ok, better travelling over to Hayfield.

I would'nt make a special trip to go there. There are some v short man made downhills, but its mainly a just ride and explore type of place.

But when you are so close to the edge of the peaks, why not go there, Even nip across to buxton and ride out of there. About a 12 -15 min drive.

Charity Lane is fun and makes a good start to a day if you go out the forest to take in bits like Cumberland Clough and Three Shires

Teeto,

It's great at Macc, proper peak riding. Not sure where the poster above is thinking of with man made downhills. There is one in the forest itself, but Macc Forest is the term for the area not just the forest.
You have Charity, 3 Shires, Cumberland, loads of stuff that makes for a great day out.

It's worth going to ride.

Dave

Its ok if you're local, say max 30 minutes drive, but I wouldnt drive a long way to ride there. I find it a bit boring, but better than no biking at all.

Its fine on a hard tail or full suss.
