Anyone else had issues with other brand chainrings not sitting flush on XT M8000 or SLX M7000 chainset, I've had to file down the edges on the offset tabs of the chainring to stop it floating on the spider otherwise there would of been a 0.5mm gap.
Yep, Shimano changed the tab length on chainrings (and the corresponding area on the crank) for 9speed and up, I assume to stop people fitting cheaper chainrings.
Just bought a blackspire ring for a m7000 from CRC and it fits very nicely. About 25 quid.
I bought an uberbike m8000 specific ring and it's a good fit
Had to file my uber one, what year are your cranks, I think shimano altered the spider on later models.
I'm using a Superstar components chain ring on my SLX M7000 with no issue.
Have used works components, absolute black and superstar on mine, all have fitted without issues.
I just stick with Shimano, they last for ever and fit properly
