Is the end of the clip that comes off the spring left of the "X" in XT meant to move a little? It's on a metal shaft and I can move my new derailleur about 3mm up and down. Is this a feature and normal?

sorry its a shadow mech m772 but much the same apart from the m772 has a buffer on either side of where the clip sits and the m771 doesn't have that space filled in on the sides.
