You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi everyone,
I'm wanting to reduce the travel on a new set of 170mm lyrik forks by 10mm. The forks didn't come with any travel spacers as others do but i had some spare from a set of 2011 revelations. These are the clip on type.
I'm reading mixed info across the web about what spacer is required. I've seen some pics of a spacer which is whole and slides on the shaft with small holes around the edge and some pics of the spacers I have.
Can anyone clarify if a specialist spacer is needed for the lyrik?
Thanks
Hugh
Don't think so - its a universal kit they sell. I lower my lyriks with what was lying around (from rebas) and they work fine.
Do you know if they were the clip on style spacers or the doughnut style?
I only ask as some one over on mtbr had said that the clip on ones weren't suitable 😕
Seem to remember it was a doughnut. I think you could also use a simple washer. Check out these threads

Definatley the "doughnut" style spacers as linked to in the clicky above.
Well that's what i used to drop mine down to 150mm anyway.
Thanks chaps. I've put a wanted thread up for a 10mm spacer but if anyone reads this and has one spare please e-mail me (in profile).
Thanks
Hugh
