...is this a fashion faux pas or an acceptable way of keeping your legs warm without showing the world how poorly (or not) endowed you are?

Is it that time already?

Dan you're nearly 30 now - does it matter if some kid laughs at you for wearing Lycra/baggies or any combination of?

Why do people worry about this stuff?

You're playing in the woods on a bike, you know, like you did when you were 10? Only now you're grown-up. And you're worried about how you look..?

Perspective...

Hey, I got stopped and asked for directions by a very attractive French lady a while back. She seemed to take pleasure in admiring my lycra.

Wear it with pride I say! 😉

Hang on, we're talking about wearing lycra longs under baggy shorts aren't we? Not just whether one should wear baggy shorts or lycra shorts. In the winter months I always wear lycra bib longs, the ones from Lidl/Aldi or whatever, and I'm pretty certain that everyone I ride with is very grateful for the fact that I always wear a pair of baggy shorts over them.

I'm a weighty lad, so it's not really a question of fashion as much as simple common decency to my fellow rider. 😳

B. 😆

er... I think the point of the baggies is that nobody can see whether you're wearing lycra or not underneath. So it's a bit of a moot point about whether it's a fashion faux pas, as it won't be obvious anyway.
Personally I have lycra to keep my legs warm (and for the padding) and baggies to keep everything decent. If you saw where the hole in seam of my lycra shorts is, you'd understand...

I wear 3/4 lengths under my baggies on my commute to work and the kids at the school I work out don't point and laugh!

Well
I ride with a nice 3/4 but as said you are on a bike, so people will point at you and laugh, like this morning in the station where 3 girl point and laugh 'look at this ugly ****er wearing hi-viz jacket)"... 🙁
