[Closed] LUST tyres with tubes = unnecessary weight??

Evening all

I've been watching a few other threads on here about tyre choice. My bike (a Cannondale Rush) is currently shod with 2.35 LUST High Rollers front and rear, but I am using them with tubes in them. I run them at normal (~40 psi) pressure, so am not worried about needing to run them softer.

Are others using tubes in LUST/tubeless tyres, are there positives/negatives (thicker sidewalls = better puncture protection?).

I'm not sure I'm ready to take the plunge and go tubeless (or that my bargain superstar xc430 rims will do it?), but am thinking about buying a new set of tyres (new mountain king IIs or Nobby Nics) to compare.

Any advice appreciated

Thanks

Andy

totally!

After my virgin outing (without stans fluid) and 'burping' off my front tyre I've never had a flat. I was out 3 days ago hammering it (on the downhill bits) around the Kinder Circuit (not a sole was out btw, bone dry too???? wtf?) many rocks and drop offs (rush up descent) and Jacob's....no probs...the 'Beast' (as boring as it is...it's a democracy)...not a prob.

So for me, I just can't see the why or the need?

Just for completeness, I carry a 'proper' tubless repair kit + a spare tube just in case...I like to have a plan b) and plan c).

If the hR LUSTs are in good condition I'll give you £30 for the pair. What a waste. Run them tubeless or move them to a deserving home ie me!
