Osprey hydration pack in red now blighted by leaking finishline wet lube and resultant large oil stain.

What's the best thing to clean it with to get the stain out. And yes I'm a total tool

Rub it with a bar of Vanish and stick it in a washing machine.

Something like White Lightning Degreaser, then a 40deg wash with normal washing liquid

I find giving a big squirt of fairy liquid and rubbing it well in before a 40 wash works on every kind of stain much better than Vanish.

@cody its brilliant for sunburn and bike rash too !

OP my suggestion would be working in washing up liquid, thorough handwash and soak thrn washing machine on am intemse cyclle (edit I see BigJ suggests much the same)

you can get something called Elbow Grease from the factory shop or the CooP, brilliant stuff for those type of things. Spray on let it soak then put it in the washing machine.

Lots of soda crystals. Should turn oils into soap.

Spray the stain with hairspray or WD40 just before putting it through a wash cycle. As with all oil/grease marks wash it on as high a temperature cycle as it will stand.
