The STW favourite L/S Merino wool base layer from Aldi is about 2" too short in the sleeve in the large size.

Of the other low price tops, do any have longer sleeves in comparable sizes?

My fall back is just to get a short sleeve one, but I thought I'd ask...

Cheers,

Paul

I love the military base layers and they all seem to have short And scrawny sleeves too, but their just too cheap and good to not have 🙂
I paid £3 each for the 5 I have 8)

I have long arms and my (~8 year old) Howies l/s merino is about the longest sleeved garment I own. It doesn't really fall into the low price category but it has lasted well.

I bought the Aldi ones and just push the sleeves up. They are a touch short in the body for my 6' 5" frame (even at XL), but otherwise a bloody good fit.

My goto choice for base layers is always Helly Hanson though. I have more Helly tops than I can count and in all colours of the rainbow. Assuming olive green and black are colours of the rainbow.

Icebreaker aren't low price last time I looked. (Although mine was £15 😉 )

I have a Patagonia one, sleeves are lovely n long on that. Again, not cheap, but if you can find one in the sales...

Another thumbs up for on one. I am 6 2" and the large fits well so imagine XL should be fine.
