Less active and just a bit crap was how mine felt, I started to speed up the rebound and drop the air pressure etc, then realised I was 20mm into the sag with no weight on the bike make sure you check this first!!!

Yep we have both size bottles, would do a lower service every 30 hours ish and lower service with oil change every 50/60 hrs.

5ml of oil? From my knowledge of fork design id have thought this wasn't really enough in the long run. It won't take much for this amount to lose it's lubricating qualities through contamination and end up with worn out bushings and seals very quickly.

Smoothest forks I've used were open bath bombers, no doubt down to the amount of oil floating about the seals and bushings.
But sure what do I know, rock shox must know best

Lower service with oil change, i.e. in the damper?

No the lowers, damper and air spring system housed in upper legs so would be dealt with as part of a full service

Is there any reason why you can't use Castrol GTX or some cheapo 5w30 engine oil from Halfords?

I'd say it won't have anti foaming properties which are usually specced for suspension oil and my damage the seals and the like

Yeah but for some reason people are confused by a simple chart.

just had a look at it, tbh I am likely just to do the lowers a couple of times then send them off.

Dead easy to do a lowers service, just follow the SRAM guide and use a torque wrench.

I got a 2oz tube of slick honey grease from Billys BMX but now out of stock and Ison Distribution has an ETA of 14th April, not sure what else is a suitable substitute but slick honey looks very much like a thin calcium based waterproof grease. I got a litre of Rockshox 0W-30 oil from bike-discount.de as couldn't find it in the UK and wanted to stick with the specified oil on my lovely spendy new forks but I'm 99% certain it is Maxima Ultra 0w30 ester synthetic motorbike engine oil and it definitely smells and looks like it is but I guess there is a chance the engine oil has additives in it that aren't in the RS stuff. As there is so little oil in the damper side lower leg I removed the lowers to check before I used them and although they was oil present it only dripped out of the air side lower leg and at least I know they're lubed properly now.
