Low hanging bottle cage

Because I have a frame bag on my hardtail, I can't use a normal bottle cage on the downtube (the only option on the frame) as the frame bag gets in the way of the bottle. My current solution is a Blackburn Outpost Cargo Cage into which I've drilled an extra hole so it hangs right down the bottom of the frame which allows me to get a bottle in. Unfortunately it completely lacks convenience. I've swapped the original buckle straps for velcro straps but it's still not very convenient.

Any recommendations for a better solution please? (No not a camelback!)

You can get adaptors that will shift the bottle cage down, or up.

There are a number of solutions attaching a bottle cage to your saddle or seatpost. Of course, these don't really work if you're needing to move about much on/around the saddle so work best for XC/gravel type riding.

Adapter to move the cage down and use a side entry cage.

I’ve just fired one of these so I can fit a 750ml bottle underneath my frame bag.

Topeak Alt Position Cage Mounts, Black, 10.8 x 1.2 x 9 cm / 4.3” x 0.5” x 3.5” https://amzn.eu/8QTh4Yj

(cheaper on Chain Reaction).

Or Wolf Tooth

Wolf Tooth Unisex_Adult B-RAD-2 Bottle Cage Accessory, Black, M https://amzn.eu/1D47hUm

They do a longer one too which I might measure up to see if I can fit a 950ml bottle in

I'm lucky enough to have bottle cage mounts under the down tube.

For the top mounted bottle I used the decathlon mounts. Work great, but I used some voile straps for reassurance.

Hopefully a picture attached. I used this set up in Scotland touring up to cape wrath, doing some proper rough stuff.

I found a Mud Love Bheesty pretty good as a stem cap mount, but not sure if they're made any more as I couldn't find any for sale.

I've a bbb haulermount if that would work? I'm away until the end of the month but you can have it for the price of postage if you're not in a hurry.
I'd planned to use it to add a second bottle mount to my full sus but can't mount it far enough down the tube to keep the bottle out of the front wheel

@dangeourbrain thanks for the offer but don't think I'll need it.

how's that lucky? Surely they're for holding something you're not going to drink from?

Surely the clue's in the question? Get rid of the bag.

(No not a camelback!)

The answer is a Camelback - or a new frame/bike.

You're welcome. ;o)

I have the same. I tried a blader in the frame bag but couldnt get on with it. Now I put a bottle in the bag and if a longer trip one under the down tube to replenish the one in the bag. Have you heard of rivnuts? They are like pop rivets but with an internal thread so you use them like a bottle boss. I have juet fitted some to my top tube to hold a small bag.

I might take a punt on these as well; a pair of mounts for < £7 on Amazon. Dispense with the parts a bottle cage is supposed to bolt to and bolt it directly to the two brackets themselves then fit to seat post.
