I had this trip booked long before the new trails were announced so the extra 3 runs were a nice surprise (even if AC DC was closed when it was advertised as being open, but meh).
I didn't have my gimbal on during the morning when I did the new stuff, but I got this nice top to bottom run of Vicious Valley into the newly rebuilt A470 Line and finished by flying down Willy Waver.
I love what they've done with A470, it's faster, bigger, scarier and flows just that bit better since they revamp, top work from the BPW trail crew!
The link below should take you direct to where the A470 Line starts, but the runs are indexed in the video description because I'm helpful like that.

Nice clearance clarence. Weather looks mint, unlike every-time I seem to go.
Was great there yesterday. That jump line not for me though. Thought all the trails that we did were great, other than the new watts occurring. Sure it's a great trail but way too big for me (I thought it needed a more substantial qualifier as while i just got safely down nearly had a huge crash).

Almost a bit too much clearance some might say, at least one of those top set of tables I overshot so much I nearly landed at the bottom! haha Yer I couldn't have asked for a better day for it, little bit overcast in the morning but the afternoon was glorious!

I had the EXACT same thought about Watts Occurring! You can plop off the qualifier no bother, and the first 1/3 of the trail (the tech part) is relatively tame, but then the 'flow' part kicks in and all of a sudden you go from a few roots to some fairly sizeable hip gaps and you're like "Well, that escalated quickly" haha
I guess because the rocks are still 'fresh' some of the edges haven't been worn in yet as well, cost me a new rear tyre and had to walk the last part of the trail. lol
Hopefully the tricky "3rd" jump has been sorted? The one that used to catch out a lot of in-experienced jumpers by being a bit lippy and therefore actually needing some technique, but following two easy to jump ones?
ie
1st jump, slow and steady , ooh, that was ok.
2nd jump, more speed and confidence, weeeeeee, hey this is fun,
3rd one, more speed added, i'll really hit this one,........ THUD, oh i've just landed on my face !!
The loose rocks were actually fine for me. It was the step downs (to flat if you got it wrong) and the big steps ups to the berms that got me. Well that and the lovely set of slabs into a drop followed by something else was so close to putting me into the rock stack to the side.
Looks well nice, I enjoy these vids good work.
Very nicely done. 👍
I counted 167 points at which I would have crashed and probably died.
I gave up counting at that point, as I realised there was still 5 minutes of the video left 😂
Nice - really need to get down to BPW.
I'd love to be able to ride trails like that well, I'd survive it, i may even get a smidgen of air time off a few, but there'd be guesswork and pure luck at times too.. Nice riding.
I had heard the had reshaped A470, but I've still only ridden it twice. It's really not very interesting, (but then I feel the same about A-Line too, once you have ridden it clean once, its just repetitive).
Enjoyed Watts Occurring though - it does escalate quickly in the middle, one of the hips is almost like a hipped dirt jump!
Good to see they are still building more 🙂
I must be the only person not realising they'd reshaped A470 then. Was down there last Friday before the bank holiday, and it pissed it down all day, went down A470 and the First couple of jumps are as per... Then it all got a bit full on! Some of my landings were a bit squirmy!
Did you do Vicious Valley at all (other than to get to A470) of course? What's the revised road gap like?
They have just squared off the take off a bit. It's no bigger or harder than before.
Nice to see it looking dry and dusty, not something I have even seen when visiting BPW.

Is this on the top jump run after the drop in from Vicious Valley you're refering too? I did find there was always one that didn't seem to match the rest flow-wise, they all seem to be equally steep now so at least they are consistent! The new setup give you so much more speed into that double berm in the middle of the top run!

If you complete a day of riding and don't have a few of those moments on your tally you weren't riding hard enough! 😉
@howsyourdad1 @dirkpitt74 - Thanks guys, appreciate it!

That's how we learn though right? First time is guess work, second time is an educated guess, third time is deliberate awesomeness. haha

was the plan once, but hurt lots! often !
@Hob Nob - Cheers. I'm off up again in a couple of weeks and VV is one of my favourite tracks so I was hoping they hadn't made it a bit mad.
Nope, it's still pretty mellow, I'm sure it still catches plenty of people out with the slight left on landing, judging by all the scuffs into the tree on the outside of the corner though...
They have also re-graded some of the last bit after it, built up a couple of the corners so it carries speed a bit better now.
I watched a video of it earlier and though it looked like they had smoothed the last bit before it joins Melted Welly out a bit and maybe added berms. Last time I was there they were filling holes in the very last section down to Bonneville/Surfin Bird.
