My shock started leaking last week while in Italy, So I drove up to Mojo Monday morning and they rebuilt it with a new shaft while I waited around, quick test ride today around Portland and it’s feeling lovely and plush again, and everything is running well, leaving for the EWS tomorrow.

Took the gravel bike and the drone on the road up to Stwlan Dam this morning. Had the whole place to myself.

Finally got around to taking my son's mates scrambling on the Esk Gorge. Group of 9 was a tad unweidly but we made it up with no issues. Brilliant place.

For the first time in 9 years, on Saturday I will be contributing to this thread. My first new bike in 12+ years (?) arrived today, my pedals and other bits and pieces arrive tomorrow and I am beyond excited.

First time on a bike (apart from a very occasional commute) in nearly a decade.

0700 this morning I risked crossing the border to that strange land for four laps of the Bodmin beast trail - it was totally deserted except for deer & rabbits

Kept it local and tried to find some trails I can ride from the door, to add to the loop I always end up doing. I failed.

A bit of this
https://flic.kr/p/2nprLfh

But mostly this
https://flic.kr/p/2nprKwt

That's a byway by the way. Not even a bridleway!

Used the South Downs Way to link up some old Skool singletrack. Really enjoying 29” wheels (i know, a bit late to the party!)

End of a week in Snowdonia for us. Harlech beach earlier in the week, some sneaky gravel rides and some family/dog walks. Don't want to go home.

3 hour road ride today and I'm exhausted. I've fallen into the same trap I do every year of not making myself go out and get fit until summer's already here. Hoping I'm up to an mtb ride tomorrow before the rain ruins everyone's street parties at the weekend.

Alpacas? Llamas?

@thegeneralist and @sandboy - thank you.

As per another thread, I've been somewhat lacking in motivation recently, I think a result of the shit weather. I had put off my monthly "bivvy" and was beginning to feel it was just a box-ticking exercise. Once out, I really enjoyed it and, as usual, found it a nice reset button. While I'm not doing it for the Likes, it helps knowing it's also giving some pleasure to someone else

Started getting chilly half way, here's a nice view of the motorway.

Bit of a different, old's cool, cross-country exploration ride today. Picked some red dotted lines on the OS map and headed off. Found some interesting (and not so interesting) stuff but overall a decent XC 'training' loop for future reference. Had to resort to silly post processing stuff to get any kind of reasonable riding photo though...

Was that the Green Loch @scotroutes? Just a stunning part of the world and the Highlands is my fave spot. Just come back from a week's family holiday in Grantown and rather deflated.

What a weekend, EWS was awesome, perfect weather on both days, tracks were all running great, and other than a queue to start stage 1, the rest of the route and timings, were spot on, the runs are definitely long! and the standard of riders was extremely high, I finished 80th in the 35+ class out of 90 starters, but no crashes and though I wouldn’t have gone much quicker I was riding sensibly with no intention of crashing, then after the race, we drove Penrith and rode up above Coniston from Grizedale today. With 15,500 ft of elevation in the last 5 days, I’m ready for a day off tomorrow.

Is it still the weekend? (It is for me)

I completed my assigned Scotways route surveys today on a new-to-me track between Inver and Loch Builg. I've ridden enough of these to expect the worst so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was all rideable. A white-tailed eagle passed at eye level, about 20 metres away. Fairly made my day.
