So, Ive had a great day cycling on the IoW but managed to pick up a plethora of punctures on both wheels from those pesky flints and thorns? Mr Stans did the business and sealed all the holes. Found some more thorns when I got home, also extracted and now sealed.
Question is, is it worth taking the tyre off to remove anything still poking through the tyre or keep going as is now all holes are sealed? If I ever did have to use an emergency tube, would be a nightmare to make sure all thorns etc have been removed...your thoughts please.... 🙂
just add more sealant .
Ask yourself if you'd rather check for and remove many thorns in the comfort of your home or at the side of a muddy trail in the pouring rain.
If you're fitting a tube, you should always check the inside of the tyre anyway, whether you think there's anything sharp sticking through or not.
My thought are that I don't even carry an emergency tube anymore.
I run tubeless and had a pesky slow puncture. Dropped the wheel in a tub and found the hole was well up by the rim. Shaking the wheel in the horizontal postition got the latex to seal the hole.
