Same on last week's club ride too. Almost every driver hung back and/or overtook with loads of space... lots of friendly waves all round. Things are definitely getting better out there (South East London and Kent lanes). Maybe the masses are just getting used to the change...
A few close overtakes and a couple of inarticulate moments of verbal abuse (are these people so thick that they don't realise that if they shout at you from a car moving at 40+mph, you won't actually hear a word they're saying) but these were easily a tiny minority compared to the friendlies
Felt like there were more high speed near misses yesterday, but we'd ridden twice as far as normal and I guess there were twice as many incidents.
Not always easy to keep your perspective though.
