Had a look at my bike yesterday after riding and noticed that one of the teeth on my Hope T-Rex 40t sprocket was missing. Looks like a clean break, as though it has somehow sheared off. Seems a bit of a weird thing to have happen?
Anyone else had this happen to them?

It's aluminium, why wouldn't it if something hard enough hit it with enough force etc.

Agreed, but to strike with enough impact to shear a tooth off I'd expect other damage (eg. Derailer)
