I've had a few "Uh Oh you just lost your KOM" emails on segments I didn't know I had a KOM on.

They don't shown up in my profile under the KOM's/CR tab either.

Is this because they have been created after I rode the section?

cheers

Or it's just recalcing and you were KOM until it reached the next guy 🙂

I lost one a couple of days ago that I'm sure I never held. My workmate complained I'd taken one from him recently but I'd been quicker over the section than him on a previous ride. I could only take the KOM from myself.

yeah get this fairly regularly (a sad inditement of my decline in fitness i guess!). It's either when segments are made after you've ridden it or when on your original ride strava decided to hide the segment so you never knew you had the KOM.

Yeah, I've had a couple of these recently, just figured Strava was acting up.

It's all a bit strange. I equaled a KOM recently but it only gave me PR status.  I've since been back and beaten it but only got PR satus again.  If you go into the segment, it still shows my old time and previous joint KOM yet if you look at my efforts on the segment you can clearly see the newer, quicker time.

I think strava is all a bit broken.  Sometimes it takes days to populate a new segment leaderboard.

I've fallen out with strava anyway.

Bring back chronological

Or rides with higher placed segment times have been flagged, you then inherit KOM, then your time is beaten.

I'm currently 3rd on a segment but there's only one quicker time, and that's shown as 2nd.  So nobody has KOM.  It's been like that for months so surely a flagged ride would have been dealt with by now?

I launched myself through a rooty section the other week, was sure it was the quickest I'd been through but not a good enough rider to be KOM, hoped I'd be up there with a decent time and was dismayed to see it was in the mid thousands. Checked the times for the day and was in the 20s, realised then that two guys I ride with who are way slower than me downhill and avoided the section to scream down the road were a lot higher up than me!

Not really related but was surprised Strava mixed up a twisty rooty segment with a straight road but guess the start and finish points were pretty similar.

I was checking out some routes on strava earlier, found one where I am the KOM, although it doesn't show up in my KOM list, and it didn't show up in the actual ride as a KOM, or even get placed. the guy who is second did his ride before mine.

whole thing makes no sense. unless the guy with the KOM deleted his account or the segment was created later?

Usually just been created more recently and usually got the KOM from a ride I did 10 years ago with a crap GPS that has errors so it's said I did something that takes 1 minute in 2 seconds.

I'm working my way back through my history and removing all my stuff from leaderboards anyway, so it all goes away. Just a right pain in the arse that Strava doesn't just have an option to remove all past history from leaderboards, only an option for new rides.

I like it when I have driven home and taken all the KOMs from the roadies.

I've had 4 notifications this morning, for 4 different KOMs that I'd lost, to drivers, and by the time I've checked it they've edited the ride.

Kinda off topic, in all honesty, but I just wanted to bask in the glory of retaining KOMs

I do know that if you are joint KOM they wont show up in your CR/KOM part of your profile.

I've also noticed that the mobile app doesn't show all sections and some of the hidden sections you can KOM and not even know!

Yeah this annoys me, sometimes the trails are pretty close and it's not practical to expect Strava to know, but often they're notably different in a way intuitively seems like it should be detectable!

I do know that if you are joint KOM they wont show up in your CR/KOM part of your profile.

It does if you were the first to set that time (I know 2 short segments me and a mate had a proper battle on last spring, I got the faster times first and they still appear on mine, not sure if they appear on his).

I lost one a few eeks back that I apparently gained in 2014. I knew nothing about it so checked it out. Turns out is was set on the "climb" on one of the chairlifts at Les Arcs. I reckon there must of been a power serge to have lost it now after 4 years 🙂

I had a kom and lost it, fine, thought someone was just quicker than me and Im not quick, I'd not even noticed having a kom.

On closer inspection, they had done it a 120mph! In fact over an hour they had an average, average, speed of over 120mph! Through built up residential  areas!

Surely if you are out in something with an engine at that speed the last thing you would be doing is telling 100's of roadies just how little regard you have for the speed limit?

The ride was taken down pretty sharply
