starts 15/09 in bonny Scotland, then Cumbria, Merseyside, Stoke to LLanberis, mid to south wales, devon, surrey and then onto that there London.
My local place is the start in Stoke which isn't very far away at all but had an idea to go up the lakes to do the Borrowdale Bash and watch the tour come past at the top of Honister pass. The bash route passes over the honister pass so you could ride half the bash, lunch and tour pass, then the rest of it.
Anyone else fancy a STW pootle/meet up/ride up there? it's on Monday so book a day off work, long weekend, drive up Sunday night, this could be a go'er.

Will you be watching and where?

I like the idea of a Knowlsley Safari Park individual time trial, if it goes through the Cheetah enclosure it will certainly insentivise things...

I've got that week off so I'm going to the Lake District stage and I've volunteered to help at the Knowsley Time Trial.

Sounds a good idea about meeting up on Honister so I will bear it in mind.

The time trial would be better if it went through the drive through monkey part, a few bikes would go missing off the cars 😀

I've taken the Thurs/Friday off to visit the Welsh and the Devon stages. It's become something of an annual event for me, look forwards to it each year.

I went and watched the Caerphilly mountain stage last year with a friend. We made a day of it and went for a ride in the area first and met up with a group of club riders from gloucester that were doing the same thing. Lots of like minded friendly people together and a great atmosphere on top of the mountain where the riders travel through a narrow tunnel formed by the spectators. It's great to be there and see your idols/fave riders in the flesh and get an idea about how much organisation goes into these events from helicoptors to team cars, Police etc etc. If your going to watch find a hill, that way they are going a bit slower and you see them for longer. I thought Mark Cavendish would be slow up hill but when your actually there watching he flys up them! They really are at a different level of fitness.
