I'm currently rocking a 2010 P7 hardtail and although I love it at 2.7kg I don't love how lardy it is.
EDIT: BTW I'm riding the 19" P7 which has a effective top tube of 600mm, the 2 frames below I would go for the 18" and the effective top tube length is only 2mm more, so I would be fine with something "racy" if it came in an 18" frame.
Ideally I would like something that will take most of the bits from the P7 (XT chain set, hollow tech BB, FSA orbit head set) although I think I would like to downsize the fork to 100mm-120mm.
Been looking at:
Scandal - 1.588kg
Whippet - 1.300kg
The Whippet seems annoyingly fickle though in terms of what bits are compatible.
