[Closed] Looking for local riders - Nailsworth (Glos).

Anyone local to Nailsworth (Gloucestershire) on here? I'm looking for riding buddies to possibly hook up with.

I've been on STW since c.2003, and *was* a mad-keen MTBer for many, many years: used to race XC (and Road, CX and TTs), did all the XC events, ridden socially all over the country, heavily involved with the local club, been to the Alps, Pyrenees etc). But for one reason or another (moved away, new SO, working from home, rediscovered Wendyball), mojo and interest in MTBing has waned over the last few years. I now find I do very little riding (or exercise) and mustering the enthusiasm to go for a ride is getting harder and harder.

Suddenly I'm 48, been working from home for the year (no commute), and getting fatter and fatter. Really need to get riding again but I'm a bit out of touch with the local scene - I haven't really even looked at STW for a number of years now. In fact I was amazed my account was still active.

I'm not interested in joining any clubs, but I know there's a few riders dotted around here. There's even a small group that zips past my window every Friday evening but don't know who they are or where they start from. I hooked up with the LBS's evening rides group a few years ago but the shop closed and the group imploded.

So if you're local to Nailsworth and don't mind having a now-wheezy, middle-aged bloke hanging off the back of your bunch, please give me a shout. I can't see me ever getting back the fitness and enthusiasm I used to have, but it'd be nice to find some like-minded bods who might give me that impetus I need to get out more.
