I'm looking for a good mountain bike maintenance book does anyone know one ? I've got The Bike Book by Haynes but it's not that comprehensive and it is not aimed specifically at modern mountain bikes
Park tool Blue Book is good but the same info is available on their web site.
Seeing the price of ink on my printer it might not be more expensive ordering a book than printing out loads of pages off a website

Youtube is more in-depth and clearer (also free).
Welcome to the 21st century 😛
yup, youtube.
I hate trying to follow a youtube video on small mobile phone screen while working on a bike. I could watch it on the telly but the bike is outside so I'd have to memorise it all.
YouTube and websites.
Books are out of date within minutes, there's nothing now that even comes close to covering the bewildering array of "standards" that the cycling industry has seen fit to inflict on itself.
The alternative is to watch a proper bike mechanic (a pro one in a shop, not some "mate") work on it and explain what they are doing as they are doing it.
Park, despite the standard changes for most jobs the principles remain the same. After that those bits of paper that come with new parts tend to be quite insightful.
