looking for a fairly well specced hard hitting bike, preferably specialized, price range is 900-£1400
what can people find? so far the best ive found is:

That's hard to beat. Depends if you want something you can ride all day or not.
There's some great deals on Marin Wolf Ridges at the moment, I have one and can't recommend them highly enough. Alternatively, there's the Specialized Pitch Comp which is on the money.
i dont care if its hard to peddle or commute on as my sports are 15 mins ride away or a 30min drive in a mates car
i'm not a big fan of kona's to be honest
Cheeky reply, may be, but I'm selling my Foes Fly. Infinitely better spec than any of those Clicky
That Foes is very tasty indeed.
How much does it weigh?
[edit] They look chunky as hell, but I hear they build up lighter than they look.
That's a very hard hitting bike tbh, the Big Hit, more of a mini DH bike than a big trail bike. What do you really want to do with it?
I'd be going Pitch or Wolf Ridge I reckon. £1400 for a Wolf Ridge 6.8 or snap up one of last year's Pitch Pros.
36-37lbs as it is there. You could easily knock a couple of pounds off with a change of tyres though! Its been built as a full dh bike like my old one (not the heaviest so can get away with it!)
sorry pjm1974 i'm only looking at new bikes, as with my old bike i offset the rearl inkage by a few mm's and it caused all kinds of crAp, so i cant realy tell with second hand bikes
it will be heavy flowy single track, downhill jumps (kickers?) that are 20ft in length, small 6ft table and doubles and open downhil trails
I'm not selling the Foes - just hijacking the thread.
So bigger than a Pitch or Wolf Ridge then... And new...
Got to be a Norco really hasn't it?
oh sorry i missread, it was squid, sorry squib no!
i cant realy stand norco's frame style except for the new stuff
i've got that norco six-one and it'll do everything you want it to. everyone knows how good FSR link is. quite well specced and some of the best forks Marzocchi have ever made, bot works great with triples on for DH too. only probs is they only got small left. might have an 07 version in other sizes. the frame's not exactly sleek but doesn't look too bad after a few shandys! builds to around 36lb so ok for all riding all day.
The Big Hit is such great value, hard to think fo anything better really - but I'd spend the extra few hundred for the next model up.
The new models have just been revealed so maybe you should be waiting for the sales now?
The Mongoose Khyber is a decent hard hitter.

That Scott looks spot on for the money. The next model up in the big hit got a real good write up in dirt a while ago too.
Only £99 over ur budget.

A mate of mine has that exact Scott, he loves it, though the fork doesn't give full travel for some reason. Never ridden it myself, it seems like an awful lot of travel for a 302-spec Rockshox.
i have been invited to go to morzine n les gets next summer with my mates next year aswell if that helps?
