Might swap out SPD's for these on a couple of long distance bikes. Got a sore knee, wondered if they might help. Probably not. Like the idea of a solid peddling platform.
I tried them after years on Candys, didn't get on with them, went to Time ATAC and am happy.
What was the issue - was it a faff to set them up or difficult getting in and out?
I have used S-Tracks for years and love them.
Tried eggbeaters and Quartz previously as well as SPD.
S-Tracks are good quality, last a long time with decent bearings. They don't have adjustable tension, but in a similar way to eggbeaters they don't need it and they do offer an easy exit cleat, but I have never felt the need for it.
The only downside is a CX point mainly and in really thick, gloopy mud they are harder to clip in than eggbeaters or newer SPDs.
Do they work with time cleats?
Thanks Matt
Ordered a set from Merlin to try out
I believe the cleats are specific to the pedal
They are specific to S-Tracks.
Given that Time cleats can be a little tricky to find, I can only imagine......
Available online from every major site and all LBSs will be able to order them.
Received a couple of sets and fitted. Cleats went on with 1mm shims. They look fantastic IMO and clipping in and out is a breeze. Lets see how they hold up.
