I have a wheel set with this rear chosen hub (Raleigh RSP with Alex rims draw 1.9 rim). It is currently 12mm but I'd like to use it on a QR frame. Does anyone recognise the design enough to be able to recommend an adapter set that will fit. Search has revealed the Sun Ringle, Stans and Progress (among others) rebrand chosen hubs.

  • Hub is labelled AA088-18CW10
  • Freehub labelled 1712 (HG 11 speed road)
  • Drive side cap threads on (I'd expect a DS QR to maybe have an allen key shaped hole instead of flats, sure I have seen a Sun Ringle hub like that before)
  • Non-drive side is push on with an o-ring (note distinctive cut out in axle to help undo DS cap)
  • Freehub slides off when DS cap is removed.

I also have the matching front hub that is currently 15mm that I'd like to run QR, though that is somewhat easier to do with reducers.

Halo wheels sell comprehensive spares for Chosen hubs. To what extent they are cross compatible with old versions of the hubs I don't know.

For example with my Chosen rear hub 120 POE. Halo call their version Supadrive which has a different CroMo axle assembly. To convert them to boost using Halo parts, I would have to buy their axle, standard end caps (because the boost conversion is one end cap only) and the conversion end cap, as well as re-dishing the wheel to get the job done.

So what I'm saying is it might be possible but it's a minefield (you have to be pretty clued up) and obviously Halo won't help you because they don't support other brands products!

Thanks. I'm coming to the conclusion it isn't worth the hassle and easier to sell the wheel and buy something suitable.

12mm to qr adapter axles are about £5on AliExpress. They will slide straight in to your 12mm axle

I just found this on AliExpress: £3.13 | ZTTO Hub Thru Axle QR Adapter All Size Boost 9mm 10mm Quick Release 15mm 12mm 20mm 100x15 100x12 100x9 20x110 MTB Bike Wheel

Yeap,.I have one which sorts the front wheel but the 142 rear doesn't play with this method (unless I get the end caps trimmed).
