What about Cut Gate from the Langsett side, not sure where Yorkshire crosses to Derbyshire on the top.

@ton what are after? The official highest climb or a climb you want to do? Your not thinking of an everest attempt are you? 🤔

Links to strava will be useful

This is the longest off road climb that I can think of that's in Yorkshire

Its called "5 mile hike" near whitby. Its actually 5.24 miles and over 600ft of climbing. It's a lovely gravel road that starts near the church retreat and brings you out near the airbase.

Rideable it’ll be some Dales horror. Round Holme Valley / Peak end (again rideable) probably Wessenden Valley or Easter Gate from Marsden but flicking across and along the odd bit of tarmac there may be bigger stuff.

Not my area but always remember Starbotton/Buckden have some pretty decent climbs on the bridleways - 400m+ maybe up towards Buckden Pike.

Get similar at the Sedbergh end of the Howgills I imagine. Although clearly not actual Yorkshire, they are in the Yorkshire Dales National Park nowadays IIRC.

Surely this is whitestone's specialist subject?

[edit] Just realised you're probbly after the longest, not necessarily most vertical in one hit so my suggestions probably not that relevant.

Gayle to Cam Fell - about 5 miles, 1,300 ft or so? Bainbridge to West Cam Fell is similar.

By no means the nastiest climbs, just the longest. Might be something more horrible up towards Tan Hill but I've not tried it.

Thoralby to the top of Stake Allotments might edge it for length.

ton, do you mean longest in miles or height, and does it have to be a continuous climb or can there be dips?

Dales Bridleways: Calf from Sedbergh - a bit over 500m, all ridable bar one steep corner that I have to push.

Then Buckden Pike from Buckden: 450m, longer push near the top. That's about it. Wether Fell from Bainbridge is about 400m, 6 km for a long off-road drag. Valleys in the dales tend to be high.

Great Shunner Fell from Hardraw. It's a footpath but, because it's the Pennine Way, it's been armoured with flagstones and gravel - no erosion issues, very rideable if you can get your front wheel up. Over five miles and 500m of ascent, to one of the highest summits in the Dales. Early morning start for a rambler-free run over it into Swaledale.

Also, the gradual climb south along the the east side of Mallerstang, topping out above the Moorcock Inn after about five miles. Easy, completely rideable, legit, couple of descent options at the end of it.

this I will try... I remember it as a long bog. What's the descent like?

If we're into cheeky then Wild Boar Fell other side of the valley has some good riding inc a nice quick descent down the nab and then the bridleway to Mallerstang.

Last time I was on Shunner, May 2019, it was surprisingly rideable. You might be able to pick out the flagged track across the bog in this picture:

The descent into Swaledale is flagged all the way (like Great Dun over to Cross Fell).

Yep, good link from Howgills over to Wensleydale, but not overly long.
