I'm new to 2x10 systems.
I was reckoning to change my transmission two months back going on the mileage I'd done, but this double 2 x 10 system seems to have lasted a significant amount of distance travelled longer than my 3 x 9 systems would have done.
Is it my imagination or do double systems give better chain life?
I've read reports that, like for like, 10 speed chains last longer than 9 speed, so that might be it.
what he said, think it was mtbr that tested them back to back in similar conditions and found the new chains are much better.
My 10 speed stuff seems to be lasting way better than 9 speed. Like, over twice as long and still counting.
If that's true and not just in my imagination then it's a massive under-advertised boon for 10 speed.
Just put the chain checker on the new chain and it's as tight as I've ever measured....you can't even get the tool in.
Maybe that's it...improved engineering production.
