I am storing my brother's Chromag till he buys a new house in York (moving from London).
Is there any disadvantages or advantages of storing a bike upside down (resting on the handlebars and saddle)? I am already pushed for space and this would be the most efficient way of storing it for 8 months or so.

Air from the brake reservoirs may move into the brake lines and callipers, but so long as you invert it a couple of days before use and zip tie the levers to the bars, it should sort itself.

Inverting the bike should also keep oil in the forks, shock and dropper near the seals, so should help.

Before use, I’d make sure to oil the forks, drivetrain, etc.

Depends what you mean by long term, a few months, don’t even think about it (but daffys advice re brakes is spot on)
5 years, I’d be starting to worry about fork seals hardening up, tyres starting to crack, and would probably get a mechanic to give it a service before going crazy on it.
