I know the official answer- im curious what the differences are as i cant get my hands on a set right now .

i have a mk1 laminate snap deck on a free radical with 4 superhooks. I understand and realise why this cannot take a child seat that much is fair.

If i got a LT1 mk2 flight deck can i bolt it to my mk1 v racks (we have the technology to do it properly) - I am how ever concerned that the V racks seem pretty thin gauge and they do state that the Lt1 cannot be retrofitted to the Mk1 V racks

There in lies my concern - without ordering them and seeing them side by side its impossible to know if there is a gauge difference . I have no concern about drilling and fitting fixings to make it bolt on - but if the gauge is different then its a moot point.

Does anyone have a set of MK2 v racks - either from an edgerunner/leap/Bigdummy that they could measure the gauge for me ?

Looking to fit a Yepp maxi and latterly a pair of hoopties for the nursery run once the trailer is outgrown.

Ok clever cycles have been helpful.

Appears I have crossed wires.

The lt1 and 8 superhooks will fit my existing v racks and I just cut out the square and the yepp seat fits without a bracket ....

The lt2 needs bolting.

If I want hoopties on my MK1 I need an adaptor kit.

Do you want a hooptie and deck (with direct Yepp mounts)? Perhaps with a Yepp child seat? I don't think we need ours any more and I have a dummy deck to fit in its place.

I also have a Yepp Maxi with the fitting cage (Easy fit adaptor?)that I had on our Kona Minute. The cage bolted to the deck. I cut a polyprop deck to replace the wooden one. Kids are all mobile now so the seat and fitting bracket are going begging if you need one. The seat and bracket that is, In fluoro yellow.

I'm based in East Hampshire.

@trail_rat
It's a while since I moved my xtracycle on but it was an older version with a plywood snapdeck. I seem to remember that it is OK to mount a child seat on the deck if you use fixings to screw it firmly in place (rather than the plastic snap ins) and you need to fit the clamps that hold the hoops onto the frame (got some silly me like super clamp). The aluminium frames are normally just held in place by tension in the bag straps.
I actually ended up using a seat post mounted seat over the rack as it was simple and then later took the snap deck off and put a rack mounted seat in the middle. Hoopties weren't a thing until about the time I sold it on to buy a tandem.
Pic below of final iteration with child 2 asleep.

That's the deck version I've got, attached via superhooks IIRC. The Yepp seat is the kind that attaches to those rectangular mounting holes (maxi is it?). Also have a rack adapter for that system and the junior yepp seat.

Another cargo bike question.

What you all using for a stand ? I've got a kick stand which is fine for mounting trailer and parking and the cargo outriggers to lean it on when putting heavy things on

But thanks to Nixie I'll have the bairn on the back shortly and so what to get a centre stand for loading our and about. Rolling jack ass is out and the rollback will require modification to fit the freeradical and would have to come from the usa and rather more importantly doesn't get great reviews from users .

Looking at ursas Jumbo or the hebie rex . I'll need to modify either to fit but I have plans to over come that -anyone used either the ursus says good for 80kg.

Update for anyone with the same 200 dollar problem.

Solid as a rock I had to swap the supplied bolt for a slightly smaller one to fit through the tongue of the free radical. If it does become an issue I'll modify the free radical but given the free radicals been held by that bolt for 5 years I'm sure it'll be grand.

Only reservations are ground clearance is compromised somewhat but then it's a long tail cargo bike......we ain't doing steep roll ins are we.

It's a long ursus jumbo 32 quid.

Centre stands are very good when it comes to loading and unloading the kids. I used to keep a piece of cord or bungee to hand to lash the bike up loosely to stop it toppling once loaded with a kid. That enabled me to load the kids then sort last minute gaff saf3 in 5he knowledge they wouldn’t tip the bike over.
Now the kids have grown up the ctr stand is still on. I couldn’t be without it.

Looks like a great beast that. Never got round to fitting a 2 legged stand on mine but it would have been a good thing. The single leg was better than on a normal bike as the wide mount meant it stuck out further but you did have to start on the stand side with loading, particularly heavier items like compost. Seeing your electrified setup looks the ideal load / could carrying dad bike.
