its a long time since ive bought something like this, i hate wearing jackets in winter (regardless of how breathable they claim to be), so for the dry wintery days when no rains forecast, i want a long sleeve zipped jersey (still wintery protection warmth wise) to go over a base layer

can anyone recommend anything? i had a gore one years ago, sadly doesnt fit anymore and is mega expensive to buy similar again

basically a windproof zipped over layer thats like a jersey but not a full blown softshell/waterproof jacket

infact it is the same as the hooded one (which is the newest version it seems), which ive looked online at, i dont need a hood its pointless on a mtb ride for me

so assuming its not a jacket and just a jersey, is it thin? it really has a look of a jacket in the photos

I have that Endura one which I bought from there a few months back for that price - I like it for this sort of weather. It's more jersey than coat, sort of like a soft shell material, but it's reasonably wind-proof and very breathable, plus it's a nice snug fit (which I like) and has rear pockets (essential for my helmet light battery). I haven't tried it in proper rain (I doubt it would fair well) but I wear it in drizzle without issue. Overall I like it, but I've only worn it a handful of times so I'm not sure about longevity.

I think there's a newer version without the hood (my mate has one) but aside from minor cosmetic differences they seem similar.

Excellent thank you sounds exactly what im after, ive got a full on royal winter jacket, but too hot for now, and a endura proper softshell, again too hot for now, just want a jersey type material top for rides on colder dry winter days so it sounds exactly what im after, especially with the breathable thing which no winter jacket ever is

luckily its my LBS so going try it on later

hows the fit on it for you? only got a small in the shop and im usually small or medium on endura stuff

6'1, 80kg. I'm basically a medium for everything (tops), including Endura normal riding jerseys. This one in M is no different - quite snug (no flapping) over just a base layer.

tried it on this arfo - does'nt quite work for me sizing, even in medium it felt too short at the front and back annoying as the material/layout of it is exactly what im after

given its a mtb jersey it feels like its deisgned for roady

so any more recommendations out there?

I like the Stolen Goat Orkaan ‘waterproof’ jerseys.

https://stolengoat.com/product-category/mens/jerseys-tops/water-resistant-cycling-jerseys/

I’ve only got a short sleeved version that I use in combination with arm warmers when necessary. Solid bit of kit, but a bit expensive.

Yes, very breathable, no sweat sog at all. It's also a good length. I'm 6ft & 77kg, medium is spot on for me.
