Is it worth a 3 hr drive ...or is it one long rut at the moment ?
I was going to do this today but the weather forecast put me off and I'm staying local in south Wales.
Someone posted up what looked like a nice 35km route the other day which was going to be my plan.

I did the STW classic route on Friday which includes Minton Batch. It's a 40k route which goes up and down the Mynd 5 times ! It's a good route but don't expect any technical challenges on either the ups or the downs. It's a knackering route, mainly because of the wind and because of the up and downs, but the downs are very quick.
First for me, the wind blew me off the bike on Friday on a section of ST at full speed heading down to the Mill... still nursing a hole in my elbow!
The bed rock is really shallow so all the descents are fast rolling and rut free...with the exception of Minton Batch. However even after the storms on Thursday I didn't think it was that bad, still rideable at speed, just got a bit sh1tted up is all. Don't expect the Lakes or The Peaks but still worth doing and perfectly rideable.
I recorded the route so if you drop me an e-mail I'll send you a GPS.
