got a couple of questions re the olympic road race.

1st, where is a good viewing point on the return leg, on the inside of the m25.
2nd, we are staying at Little Missenden, so i am looking for a nice easyish ride into the location of question 1.

thanks.

Somewhere near Kingston? They'll be winding up for the finish so should be lined out. It'll be over in seconds though. Riding from Missenden'll be a chunky ride though... Might be worth looking at getting a train into and out of Ealing and getting a local to guide you there. 😉

I'm aiming to be just after Richmond park on the corner of priory lane and upper Richmond road. They should be fair motoring down the 'hill' on priory lane and swooping into a wide fast 90 degree corner. 🙂

Other than that putney high st could be good, plenty of pubs too.

I'd go for Richmond Park. The race goes through both on the way out and back so you could get there early watch the outward leg, pop down to the riverside get a beer and bite to eat then mosey on back up to the park in time for the return leg.

Only thing is Little Missenden to Richmond Park or pretty much any of the closest sections of the road race route is going to be 50-60 miles round trip, you can make it a bit more pleasant by taking as much as possible on the Canal/Thames path but it's still gonna be a fair distance.
