Hello,

I have a very manky ankle that doesn't have much movement in it and want to get my cleats/shoes looked at to see if there is anything that can be done to make cycling a little more comfortable.

Someone recommended bike fit to me - but the quote was for about £600 and I'm running short of that many quids these days.

I'm based in London and the south east.

Can anyone recommend someone?

Kate at hackney bike fit sorted out 2 of my bikes and did cleat fitting / shoe activation

Very happy and no more pain !

That is far more than you should expect to pay!

If you mean SE London, Iwent to Cadence/Giant Crystal Palace, Sandro was excellent. We did very little but comfort went up hugely.

Soigneur has been recommended by friends.

You probably won't get a "quick take a look at my shoes" job easily - fitting is about many things, starting with your flexibility and body, through shoes, pedals, and bike. (The biggest impact my fit had for a gammy knee was supportive insoles).

Iirc, I paid around 200 for this. I felt it worth it.

A few of my mates have been to Cycle Fit near Holborn tube station - they have very good things to say about it.

"Bicycle" in Richmond come very well regarded and are "only" £350 so I wouldn't be wanting to spend almost double that!:

Looks like they also do a shoe sizing/fitting too for £50 which you get back against the purchase of shoes so you may well end up spending the difference on a pair of shoes that they sell you 😀 If you're looking to tweak your existing ones I'd imagine you may well get steered towards a full fit as tweaking the shoes in isolation might not get you anywhere.

Not London but if you're happy with a short train ride to Newbury Callum Hughes from the velo Clinic is worth a call to. He is a Retul Fitter and aurthorised to mould and fit Sidas footbeds - he's not the 'sales' type and appreciates a good gas about bikes and mobility and will probably tell you if it's worth the jouney over a few messags.
