Hi folks,

Long time reader, first time contributor. We all like to have a moan about bad service but I just wanted to call out some very good service. I know a few on here have used and recommended Simon from Loco Tuning, as he was before family intervened. For those who don't know he's still on the go at Wadebridge Bike Shop ( https://www.wadebridgebikeshop.co.uk/).
I had a leaking rebound adjuster from a Fox Triad and rang a couple of places locally but no dice, not interested/too old/not got the parts etc. Through some people on here I remembered Loco Tuning and managed to track him down to the above - rang and spoke to Paula and they were happy to help. Anyway long story short for £104 all fixed, general service done and shipped back to me.
Oh and told me I was booked in for 13th July but if you get it to us before we'll see what we can do. I had it back for the 7th.
Can't fault the comms from Paula, who was lovely throughout and all for a good price! I will deffo be using in future for my servicing needs. I also popped a note in with my shock mentioning this forum and Simon was pleased to be remembered fondly 🙂

Have a good day all!

Great! That's good to know.

Loco Tuning was a pretty big name a few years ago for all things suspension! I remember often seeing the branding at the 24:12.

Good to hear that Simon is still in the industry & helping people out!

I've got a Fox Brain shock on my aging Stumpjumper, so hopefully he might be a port of call if it needs a service!!

I dealt with Simon quite a few years ago and all I can say is that the above is the same experience as I had so good to know firstly, Simon is still active and secondly, it's service as usual.

I'm not taking jaffa cakes to Wadebridge, I used to visit the workshop often when he was in New Tredegar 😁

Great info, thanks.
Is he a specialist in one brand, or can he service anything?

To be honest jkomo I didn't ask but then my new bike is also Fox so sure I'm covered. I'm selling the old Stumpy, typical it started leaking as I was in the process of doing so 🙁 I think it must have heard me and that was it's two fingers up to me. I will hopefully find it a similarly loving home though!
Anyway I understand he used to turn his hand to anything. Just give them a shout, I'm sure they'll be able to assist, more than likely, if not themselves point you somewhere else, they seem those kind of people 🙂

He was always so helpful on here, did a great job on my old RP23 too, glad he's still going.

Simon's a great guy, met him at a race many years ago, been mates ever since! Popped in to see him whilst my GF and I had a whistlestop Tour of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset last summer, what was meant to be a 30 minute catchup on my way through Wadebridge turned into hours chewing the fat and mostly laughing at the finer points of working in the bike industry at times!

He is a very bloody good mechanic though, and far too modest for his own good.
