Had a quick look online and couldn't see much.

There was a youtube video from a month ago that seems to suggest the machines have gone and work has finished, with the top section being left sanitised. Is this how it is, we are up there tomorrow?

Was last there on new year's day, machines have gone, but there were a couple of trees down on the final steeper bit of descent down to the reservoir. You could push round them, but spoilt it a bit (a lot). Top section is now just a flat fire road, it was never amazing anyway but now really flat. Still probably just about worth doing as it completes the loop nicely and I can't figure out a neater way to do it, be interested to hear of other options.

Yes, it' still a double width track. Last time I was there (a couple of weeks back) a tree had fallen down across the lower section - that's still the original state, so the whole thing is really just a way of getting down to the Resr rather than a fun descent

Hmm, annoying - I'm sure I read whilst work was underway that the company carrying out the work had a good knowledge of putting things back to their original state. I'm sure the weather will do that over time and I guess they weren't going to leave it a techy rock fest

that's a shame, used to love the fist bit as it was a flat out blast. understand why that had to do it, but with that, and the changes they work they did previously, it just feels like another fun descent lost in the peak district

I was up there today, the top section hasn't done well with the recent heavy rain, proper claggy. A pretty poor job of reinstatement from the contractor, just ramming down the existing sub-soil with a machine isn't trail building 🙁

We weren't sure how far down the sanitisation would go, so turned back and did Hagg Farm instead.

As mentioned above, another Peak classic gone 🙁

Did it when we said we were going to. The bottom bit is still ok, but not very long.

Saw a post on Facebook the other day though saying they've now put a bloody gate half way down as well.

Just eff off 😡

To add insult to injury; A gate has now appeared half way down the last section - the only remaining part that retains anything like the old character of the former trail.

It's hard not to see it as the last "**** you" to mountain bikers.
