Lizard Skinz in particular, ok to use on carbon bars ?
Or safer to stick with conventional slip-ons ?

They're fine. No different to clamping brakes/gears
One caveat - so long as they're not the type that locks on by driving a bolt straight into the bar

I have had lock-ons on 2 of my carbon bar fitted bikes for 2+ years without any problems whatsoever.

2 sets of monkey lites with Odi lock ons and not issues.
