Wil be heading up to llandegla to race in March, will need to stay over the night before and it's likely my wife will come up too, where's nice to stay nearish by that has a bit of interesting stuff for the sat and a decent restaurant? I'm guessing Llangollen will be best bet?

Can't go wrong with Llangollen. There are some nice walks along the Canal/River and plenty of resteraunts and Hotels to choose from.
if you want somewhere a bit more different try Ellesmere (about 20 min from LLangollen).(Please don't confuse Ellesmere with Ellesmere Port, Cheshire) 🙂
