had a great time, very busy and parallel universe was really good but what is the point of the new freeride track. 95% of people who go Llandegla wont ride it as its crazy, would of thought some less extreme options as well as the extreme stuff. anyways had a good time never the less

its a tad more than technical, i'll ride anything but those doubles and that final drop really are huge. still think they could of just put in smaller options for people to do instead

Less Extreme - Black Trail
More Extreme - Freeride Park

Sorted!

In general its all rollable anyway, theres is Big double just before the log section but theres already tracks going around it now, a drop off by the Bridge and oh yeah another at the end which i didnt see 😯 the only downfall and this is what most others thought, its very pedally PEDAL PEDAL PEDAL and most by half way were to knackered to go all the way down. Hopefully it will bed in quick and faster lines wil develope.

Well yes i rolled the last and it didnt end very well but cleared the first and i was on a DH Bike so not ideal for a freeride park. TBH if you cant jump then its not ideal as thats the whole purpose of the trail is to provide ample opportunities for the rider to become airborne, throw tricks, and create new and imaginative lines on and over the terrain.

i admire what they have done but slightly less extreme options as well as the extreme ones would of attracted more riders

Sadly they can only work with the space they have and now pretty much all of that is used up with the Skills/Pump Track/Freeride Park.

There are normal sized tabletops and drops on the new section of black trail, and on the skills loop aren't there?

chiefP, don't take on the Rorschach - he is skilled in the way of the 20inch wheel and will hand it to you on a plate.

95% of people who go Llandegla wont ride it as its crazy,

Maybe they're trying to appeal to a wider audience and the 95% will become 70% without losing a single customer.

I do not consider myself to be any great shakes on a bike but if someone doesn't build things i can't ride than how do i improve?

It would be a pretty boring sport if we could ride everything first time and god knows Llandegla is boring enough already.. 😉

Is just me or do those superb photos not show anything particularly difficult?

I'll be impressed if you can show me a photo of you getting that much air off those tabletops.

another thing, the tabletop thats has the logs in it is about 10 to 12 feet long...that would be an interesting landing.

Sorry Grumm, i was refering to the jumps not the rider. Philfive, there must always be something we should aspire to?

"Still won't stop the scallies on BSO's riding it." leave em to it, it's a learning curve.

I went today and whilst I really enjoyed it and the first four jumps were lovely I thought they could have built the whole track a little better? Pedally doesnt really cover it!! Its like a frickin BMX track! I know its lazy to say this but when you have that amount of hill I would have made it shorter and allowed the rider to use gravity to maintain the pace rather than HAVE to gas it to get over the jumps. Surely the point of this track is for stylin it up and flowing over not crankin like an engine!!!

For example after the first four jumps (after you hit the first lh 180 berm) im runnin out of gas as they are all pretty much on the flat!!! why not put some pump lumps in then to maintain some speed or I think I would have built slightly smaller jumps closer together on the initial flat bit so you can keep your flow till the hill gets going, then you can put in some nice floaty big jumps. Also why are all the drops to flat thats just daft???

I hope that it does speed up and allow you to hold more nataural pace as I feel it would really improve it.

I know that this sounds like a whinge; and it is a bit. I did really enjoy riding it and Im mega impressed that they have built something of a reasonable size instead of shying away and building tiny jumps like lots of other places. It its just a bit of a shame that they have obviously spent a lot of money on it and the end result could have been better, even if the track was shorter.

The next section down parallel universe is amazing! Really flowy and one of the best trail centre descents I have ridden in the UK nice one!!!

Did I miss something?? biggest drop I rode today was maybe 3ft and that was on the new freeride bit. There is only two right?? and both to flat, god knows why though on a freeride section, would have been nicer to create a gap/step down jump surely.

Anyhow as mentioned it is very peddly and needs bedding in more to release speed from the trail.

Cheers for the advice Ironhide, i try not to get into pointless arguments 🙄

The simple solution, if you can clear the Doubles on the skills area no problem and do the drop offs on there too then your nearly ready to release youself onto the Freeride park, if you cant then dont do the freeride park until you can SIMPLES 8)

The guy on the white Santa Cruz in chiefp's pics doesnt seem to be having any lack-of-speed problems...

Wish I could jump like that.

loved it.. as stated its pretty tough to get the speed up to clean the doubles. hucking my 36lb hardtail over them turned out to be beyond my reach... i need a bit more fitness, power, and focus i rekon but its there to test people i guess.. the drops and step downs are super smooth though i thought..

PEDAL PEDAL PEDALLLLL....

+1 (unless I missed something too).

The flattish landings are not too great though, unless you really really motor into them.
