...do I have to get there to stand a fighting chance of parking at the moment?
Have the day off on Monday so aiming for a couple of Munros, but don't want to arrive to find I can't park anywhere. Coming up from North Fife so a couple of hours drive. I got parked in Glen Doll a couple of weeks ago fine around 0800, but it was rammed when by the time I got back down.
Alternative plan (Drumochter) is less of a honey pot, but with much smaller parking areas so possibly even worse!
I was there a month ago and found a spot at 11. Turnover is quite high as people look at the falls then leave.
Which hills are you doing? There's another car park down the road and there's by the Bridge of Dee on the Invercauld Estate.
A Monday. Wouldn't be worried at all.
We've been in Braemar all week and not had any issues parking. It's infinitely quieter here than Aviemore for example.
When we parked up for the LoD ride earlier this week there were less than 6 cars there.
Thanks - that sounds hopeful! I'd seen reports that it was half full of campers overnight.
I'm aiming for Beinn a'Chaorainn and Beinn Bhreac. Bridge of Dee is probably too far away, but I see there is parking in Inverey which isn't _too_ far away.
We stayed in the vans at the car park a couple of weeks ago. Turned up at 7pm on a Monday night and there were 5 or 6 other vehicles there. Left at 9am on Tuesday and there were even less cars or vans there
