Any suggestions for a 29” tyre with a similar tread pattern to the Ron, but slightly higher volume?

Vittoria Barzo.

Just swapped to a Barzo up front and its a awesome tyre as its reputation states.

In 2.35? Here did you get it? Can only find 2.25s.

What about a 2.35 Ikon?

2.25. Plenty wide enough (for XC).

Well, JRM has it, but you did say “but slightly higher volume”. IMO the Barzo is exactly that in the same measurement. The 2.25 i have looks slightly biggger than a 2.25 Ron.

2.35 Nobby Nic 2, or 2.35 Hans Dampf if you like the Schwalbe compounds

Thanks for all the suggestions, the Barzo looks good, especially at that price!

Anyone have a comparison of it vs the NN? (which is what I've got on the front at the moment).

Faster rolling?

Maxxis Forekaster 2.35, Conti X-King 2.4 (not really 2.4).

The barzo will be faster rolling than the nn and better grip

Indeed. I just swapped from a nn/ground control combo to a barzo/barzo. 4% faster.*

* according to roots and rain's how-far-are-you-behind-the-leader stats tool over 2 rounds of the brass monkeys. So proof, sort of 😉

Another vote for the Barzo here, been using them for 2 years and they're ace, the Mezcal is a cracking RaRa alternative for the rear too, just as fast but a boat load tougher
