A friend has a front light with separate battery pack similar to the magicshine ones (bought for him as a present off ebay). His dog has chewed the connectors off the battery lead and the lamp lead, so I would like to find some replacements. I need two or each ideally, and can arrange termination and water proofing myself at work. Can anyone help please ? We can't night ride until his lights are fixed.

Lumicycle do an extension cable you could just chop in to.

I'm sure there will be plenty of others for magicshine lights out there.

Have you tried smudge at mtbbatteries ?

Tried mtb batteries a few times as that's where my lights came from, but no joy. If I can't find any connectors the extension cable route is a good plan, never thought of that...

Dealextreme did an extension lead for one of the magicshine lights which I used to replace a faulty lead. Failing that you may be able to buy from Maplins (or similar) a power plug and socket as a temporary solution.

Just read the messages on MTB Batteries and would like to say that (a) it's a couple of months since I last tried them for these items and I'm not complaining, and (b) I'm sorry for your loss Smudge.

If you want one, call them up, the post is cheaper than on line buying.Nice people to deal with.

If you live anywhere near Farnborough, Hants, I'm reasonably handy with a soldering iron and I could put something new and fairly tough on for you if you like?
Email in profile. 🙂

EDIT
just re-read your post. Get some Deans connectors off eBay. They are for electric RC cars and are tough and clip together securely. Either that or Tamiya connectors. It's not necessary for them to be 'waterproof' as such

If you're swapping the connectors for a different type, remember to buy a plug for the charger as well 😉
