Looking at a road bike (instead of cross) for commuting on, would like mudguard racks and room for 28mm+ tyres as there are some bumpy bits.

Any recommendations, ideally priced upto £1300?

Cheers

Not massively light, but comfy, reliable and already kitted out, and under budget.

Proper rack, proper mudguards, proper tyres. For commuting, assuming everyday and in all weather, reliable, comfy and equipped trumps light(ish), I'd say!

If you're 56-58cm then the Sabbath Silk Route is currently reduced to that kind of budget. Again, built for comfort (and no-rust, being titanium) rather than speed

Listed with guards and rack but pictured with just guards.

here

On the other hand, a Pinnacle Dolomite 4 has Ultegra, rack/guard mounts and weights over three kilos less

Size 54cm/m needed - the pinnacle looks good. I may wait to see if they release the 2019 model soon and try to grab a 2018 cheap.

Cheers

If I was buying an off the peg commuter, I'd do well to look past this:
