My brother was given a Spesh Hotrock for his daughter and the fork weighs an absolute ton. Any recommendations for a cheap rigid alternative?
Also any suggestions for lighter wheels as well?
He’s not made of money but the bike will do two kids so last 3-4 years (hopefully).
Just leave it
The weight of the fork will make no difference to the amount of fun the kid is having. If he's not made of money then why bother?
I keep looking at secondhand hot rocks but the coil fork and overall weight is putting me off them (brand new version has ditched suspension forks and look ace but ££££).
I had a look round at 20” air forks and there ain’t much about with spending an absolutely fortune. Manitou machete looked very decent but £400! Also looked for 20” rigid forks and didn’t find much - was looking at those Nukeproof Cub Scout frames they were selling relatively cheaply recently - but by the time you added forks and wheels it got spendy quickly.
I bought the rigid fork version for my daughter for this very reason, it was probably twenty years ago mind.
These look good, if the colour works. Both from reputable dealers and makes.

Its boost IIRC. My son had one and it didn't affect his fun.
